Festival of mischief
Overview
Later this summer, we’re launching a Festival of Mischief — an internal event dedicated to curiosity, creativity, and controlled chaos. The idea is simple: set aside time for teams across the company to build and showcase proof-of-concept tech demos that wouldn’t normally get prioritised. It’s not about polish or production readiness; it’s about playing with ideas, exploring edge cases, testing assumptions, and seeing what breaks (and what doesn’t). Whether it’s a scrappy automation, a weird integration, or just something that solves an internal annoyance in a clever way, everything’s fair game.
The aim is to create space for invention without pressure. There’ll be time boxed sprints, light-hearted presentations, and a strong bias toward experimentation over deliverables. No one’s demo is expected to ship — though if something does turn out to be useful, it’s a bonus. Mostly, we want a bit of fun, some fresh perspectives, and the chance to stir up conversations that wouldn’t happen in the day-to-day. You might not walk away with a product, but you might walk away with a better idea — or at the very least, a solid excuse to nip out for a cheeky Nando’s afterwards.
